BLUE MILK PACKAGING
This project was a fun excuse to get my hands on tangible materials. The goal of this project was to create a physical package of a product from a movie or TV show that could exist in the world of that show or movie. I decided to go with creating a carton of blue milk, from the Star Wars galaxy. I have always been a huge fan of the series, so it was a blast to immerse myself in that world.
The idea of the milk cartons that I designed is that they would be a drink served, and used to make drinks at the Mos Eysley cantina on Tatooine (the bar from the original Star Wars movie). I looked up what type of alien creature canonically produces the milk, and drew a cute mascot for the front of the package where we would normally see a cow. I also included some drawings of wanted signs and ads that would exist in the world of Star Wars. I even went as far as to have most of the type be in the fictional Star Wars language. I also designed two more packages, one for chocolate blue milk, and one for green milk, which, according to the lore, comes from a different creature.
This is a student project that has no affiliation with the Disney, Lucasfilm, or the Star Wars brand. None of my work has been used in an official matter.
PRODUCT PHOTOS
As part of this project I photographed the milk cartons as if they were actual products. I shot them like they were going to be used as marketing for the product, and to showcase them in the world that I created them for.

FINAL SPREADS
A closer look at the final designs for each of the milk cartons. This is what they look like before being folded up.
PROCESS
This project took a lot of trial and error. Once I had the concept down I made sketches showing a couple different directions that I could take the project. Once I refined the sketches, I had to refine the dimensions of the of the carton so I could properly design each side of the packaging. Once the dimensions were nailed, I began working on some of the sketches I would use for the brand’s logos, ads, and wanted posters.
